Free download and install VeryAndroid SMS Backup on your Android phone (Step by step guide).
Note: The best way is to go to the market (google paly) on android phone to search "VeryAndroid SMS Backup" and click to download and install.
Run the SMS Backup software on your phone and you will see this screen:

Click the "Backup SMS" button or click "Menu" -> "Backup SMS":

Here you can select backup file type(txt or csv). You can also enter your wanted custom file name. Then click "OK" button to continue.

SMS are being backed up now.

Done. All your SMS messages on Android phone have been backed up and saved as a text file. The file will be in this folder on your SD Card: sdcard/veryandroid/SMSBackup/ .

Now you can copy the SMS backup file from your SD Card: sdcard/veryandroid/SMSBackup/ to your computer for any further use.
